Spending summary for 2020
It wasn't the best year for digital nomads nor tourists. However, we still managed to move around a little bit and as always I tried to keep an eye on our expenses. Due to the covid outbreak and lockdowns, we were forced to stay in one country for a very long time. At least much longer than we expected.

Change of scenery
At the end of the year covid situation in Vietnam looked like it has never happened, Europe started rolling out the vaccination campaigns so we thought it's about time to start planning our next trip. We thought at the beginning of the 2021 year all countries would start to open up again and we can finally go back to our…

Typhoon and storm season
Vietnam due to its' location faces tropical storms and typhoons every year. For us, it's a completely new experience so we didn't know what to expect. For some time now temperatures were much lower and it rained a bit nearly every day. It was like a prelude to what was coming. The first time we saw tropical storm warning in…

Staying put until further notice
While the whole world was still struggling with Covid-19 here in Da Nang we felt relatively safe. There was no new case registered in Vietnam for 100 days and everything went back to normal. Streets were full of people and food stalls. Every weekend we've seen full busses of local tourists dropped to hotels around our building. Life went on…

Sand everywhere – a house near the beach
The quarantine in Vietnam was at this point at full blast. Empty streets, nearly everything closed apart of a very few grocery shops, no cars or bikes on streets. This was the moment we wanted to move to our new bigger apartment… That was the problem. We were pretty sure that two white people with a huge suitcase and backpacks…

Golden Bridge Da Nang
Ever since we saw pictures of a bridge set on huge hands we wanted to see it. The bridge is a part of a huge complex on top of the mountains. To get there you take a long 20 minutes cable car trip over the forest and mountains. It holds the world record for the longest non-stop single-track cable car…

Post Apo World
I love post-apo games, even some movies are ok, but I have never thought I will live in one! That's how it currently feels in the world with Covid-19 panic. Nearly empty street, most businesses closed, no street food, not many people on the streets but those who are there all wear masks!!!

Smart home, panoramic view Da Nang
When we arrived in Vietnam we knew we want to see Da Nang. We've found a cool place on Airbnb titled "Smart Home, Panorama View" and we didn't think much and booked it for the next 2 weeks. The description sounded interesting and obviously geeks as us we just wanted to see what it actually mean to have a "smart…
